Shadow Oaks Elementary Vision Statement

Shadow Oaks Elementary Library will be a vibrant learning environment with open access to diverse resources that inspire literature appreciation, information literacy, digital learning and makerspace materials that will promote students long term academic success.

Welcome to Shadow Oaks Elementary Library!  Our library’s primary focus is to instill a love of reading and inspire life-long learning!  Here at SOE we offer ALL students flexible and open access to both print and digital books, computers, I-pads, robotics, and a well-equipped Makerspace where students can create, make and explore beyond their wildest dreams.  This school year the focus for our library is to facilitate Inquiry and offer engaging  Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) activities that promote independent problem solving and analytical thinking.

This year we will also offer a variety of family events such as Library Night, Toddlers and Tales, SOE Book Fairs and Family Night at the Houston Children’s Museum.  I am excited for the upcoming school year and I hope to see everyone in the library!  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me at nancy.castillo@springbranchisd.com or by phone at 713. 251-6800 Ext 6847.
