Academics
Our teachers foster students’ curiosity and problem-solving skills and instill a life-long love of learning. At Shadow Oaks Elementary, we care about EVERY CHILD and value the characteristics that make each individual unique.
Our shared beliefs are at the core of our vision of T-2-4:
- Builds on the strengths and gifts of Every Child;
- Provides students from poverty the same opportunity for success after high school as students from non-poverty homes;
- Instills in every child that they can achieve more than they think possible, and;
- Ensures that every adult in the system is committed to the successful completion of some form of higher education.
What does T-2-4 success look like?
- Every SBISD graduate will attain a technical certificate, military training, or a two-year or four-year degree.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) class
Scholars in kindergarten through fifth grade at SOE will be afforded the opportunity to explore and discover concepts related to science and engineering through engagement in critical thinking, creative endeavors and experimentation weekly. Scholars in small groups will be presented with a guiding question that will facilitate their exploratory journey. Ultimately, scholars will produce videos that articulate their processes and outcomes, which will be shared as a concluding exercise.
